Explore Sydney Coliseum Theatre at Rooty Hill
The Sydney Coliseum Theatre opened in December 2019 and seats 2,000 people across a stunning auditorium designed for full-scale musicals, concerts, ballet, comedy and dramatic theatre. With three stunning foyers, seven bars, multiple entertaining areas and a VIP suite, it’s the first venue of its kind in Greater Western Sydney. Over 2,000 free parking spaces right on-site too.
Theatre Features
Walking into the Coliseum is genuinely impressive. The sweeping curves, cathedral-like acoustics and spectacular staging. The venue is built to host the biggest shows and do them justice. The sound system in particular gets consistent praise from first-time visitors who don’t expect what they’re about to hear.
The program runs year-round across live music of all genres, musicals, comedy, ballet, contemporary dance, symphony orchestra and children’s shows. It’s the kind of venue that in one month might be hosting Delta Goodrem’s Christmas concert and in the next, Bluey’s Big Play Live or a Sydney Dance Company double bill. BIG Tip
The Coliseum sits inside the West HQ precinct, which means dinner before the show is sorted too. West HQ is home to Eat Street dining with a range of restaurants and food options including CHU Restaurant by China Doll, Steak & Co., Pizzaperta Manfredi, New Town Thai Street Food and Gelatissimo.
Getting There
By car: Over 2,000 free car parking spaces are available on-site at West HQ. The recommended car park is P1, best accessed from Railway Street, with 14 designated accessible parking spaces on the ground floor with stair-free access to the main entry foyer.
By train: Rooty Hill Station is the closest station with a 10-minute walk to the theatre. Mount Druitt Station is also within walking distance and has 24-hour staff. Four bus stops are located on North Parade and Sherbrooke Street directly outside the West HQ precinct.
