Riverside Theatres
Parramatta’s home of live performance. Riverside runs three stages: the main Riverside Theatre, the intimate Lennox Theatre and the small-format Rafferty’s Theatre. It’s right in the heart of Parramatta’s CBD, covering everything from drama and comedy to dance and music. Currently in the lead-up to a major redevelopment but fully operational with shows running as normal.

Sydney Coliseum Theatre
Western Sydney’s biggest and most glamorous performance venue. The Coliseum seats over 2,000 people and hosts major touring musicals, comedy, ballet, concerts and more across three stunning foyer levels and seven bars. It sits inside the West HQ precinct with over 2,000 free parking spaces on-site. A 10-minute walk from both Rooty Hill and Mount Druitt stations.

The Joan (Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre)
Penrith’s premier arts venue and one of Western Sydney’s most respected stages. The Joan runs a concert hall, a drama theatre and a studio space, and is home to the Q Theatre company. The program covers contemporary theatre, music, cabaret and community performances year-round. Five minutes walk from Penrith Station and right on High Street, so pre-show dinner options are easy to find.

Powerhouse Parramatta (Opening Late 2026)
The most anticipated cultural opening in Western Sydney’s history. Powerhouse Parramatta is a $915 million, 30,000sqm museum on the banks of the Parramatta River. Making it the largest cultural infrastructure project in Australia since the Sydney Opera House. When it opens it will include seven major exhibition spaces, a 600-seat theatre, cinema, rooftop garden, restaurants and a purpose-built STEM academy. The opening program will include five international exhibitions including Task Eternal, an immersive aerospace exhibition.

Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre
A converted power station on the banks of the Georges River, now one of Western Sydney’s most distinctive cultural spaces. Casula Powerhouse runs two theatres alongside galleries, studios and creative workshops, with a program spanning contemporary performance, visual arts, music and community events. Free on-site parking and directly opposite Casula Station make it one of the most accessible venues in the region.

Bryan Brown Theatre & Function Centre
The Bryan Brown Theatre is a sleek, accessible venue in the heart of Bankstown’s CBD. It hosts a diverse program of drama, comedy, music and community performances, with lift access throughout the building and accessible seating available. A short walk from Bankstown Station.

PYT Fairfield
Western Sydney’s only professional youth theatre company, an intimate 80-seat space inside the historic 1895 Fairfield School of Arts building. Dedicated to young and emerging artists aged 14–26. The work here is bold, culturally diverse and consistently surprising. If you want to see the next generation of Australian theatre talent before they hit the big stages, this is the place.

Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre
A converted 1950s Anglican church turned contemporary multi-arts hub in the heart of Blacktown’s CBD. The centre runs a performance studio alongside two gallery spaces, a dedicated making space and a weaving garden, with a program built around First Nations culture, contemporary performance, visual arts and community events. Free all-day parking available at Colo Lane and Warrick Lane car parks nearby.

Town Hall Theatre Campbelltown
A heritage-listed venue occupying two historic buildings: the original Town Hall and the original Fire Station right in Campbelltown’s CBD. Home to the Campbelltown Theatre Group since 1980, the Town Hall Theatre puts on multiple productions a year across drama, musicals and comedy, consistently drawing strong local audiences. A short walk from both Campbelltown and Macarthur stations.
