Crossroads Hotel – Casula
Few pubs in Sydney carry the history Crossroads does. Established in the 1830s as the Talbot Inn at the literal crossroads of the Hume Highway and Camden Valley Way, this sprawling venue has been a fixture of western Sydney hospitality for nearly two centuries — and it’s about to get a serious refresh. New owner Sonnel Hospitality has lodged a $33million redevelopment that will bring a revamped bistro, café, private dining areas, a new beer garden, lounge garden and courtyard, plus a short stay accommodation wing.

Hotel Seven Hills – Seven Hills
Hotel Seven Hills came back stronger after a full “Grand Reopening” overhaul, and the transformation shows. There’s now a sports bar with multiple video walls for catching every game live, a plush outdoor beer garden built for long afternoons, and a brand new bistro slinging solid pub classics. If you’re after a spot to watch the footy with a proper crowd around you, this is it.

The Marayong Hotel – Marayong
The Marayong has had a stylish reno, blending the charm of the old “Brewhouse” with a fresh, designer aesthetic. The new bistro turns out an extensive menu of hearty pub favourites alongside some genuinely interesting new additions, and three relaxed courtyard areas give you plenty of options for al fresco drinks depending on the weather and the mood. An award winning local that’s worth the detour if you’re in the north west.

Greystanes Hotel– Greystanes
A genuine local staple — large format, double street fronted, and comfortably one of the bigger pubs in this part of the west. Expect a no-fuss bistro menu, a proper bar and bottle shop, and the kind of low key atmosphere that makes it an easy weeknight or weekend default.

Marsden Brewhouse – Marsden Park
Owned by Laundy Hotels, Marsden Brewhouse is a pub and craft brewery that’s become one of the most talked about openings in Sydney’s north west. The on site brewery pours a rotating line up including an extra dry low carb, a lager, pale ale, pilsner, XPA and cider — all brewed on the premises. Beyond the beer, there’s multiple bar areas, a bistro style restaurant, sports and gaming facilities, and private function rooms for anything from a birthday to a corporate event.
Wednesday night trivia is a local fixture, and there’s ample free parking — genuinely handy in a part of Sydney where that’s not a given.

Brell House – St Marys
The newest name on this list. Brell House is a venue attached to St Marys Diggers Club, opened in October 2025 and helmed by Marlene Shipley, one of the region’s longest serving hospitality leaders. It’s St Marys Diggers Club’s first major refurbishment since 2005, built with multipurpose spaces for social occasions and business events, three large format LED screens, and a curated entertainment program. Catering comes from Mitchell Davis and Gavin Gray of Great Eats Co.
With 200+ onsite parking spaces this is shaping up as a genuine new hub for western Sydney hospitality. Keep an eye on their socials for opening specials.

The Woodstock Hotel – Rooty Hill
Formerly the Carousel Inn, The Woodstocks Mediterranean inspired menu covers wood fired pizzas, chargrilled meats and large format sharing plates, and the venue itself spans a spacious beer garden, a sports bar with mega screens, and a 250 person events centre for anything from birthdays to weddings.
There’s a daily happy hour from 3–6pm, and weekly social offerings including Tuesday night poker. A genuine community hub built to be “buzzing” seven nights a week.

The Albion Hotel – Parramatta
Fondly known to locals the Albion has been a Parramatta fixture since 1882, rebuilt in 1924 and run by the Solomon family (via Solotel) since 1986. It’s held onto its status as the pub with arguably the best beer garden in Parramatta sun drenched, right on the river, and genuinely one of the better daytime drinking spots in the west.
By night it flips into a full nightclub, drawing a crowd for dancing Friday through Sunday. Grab a riverside table for sunset drinks, then decide whether you’re staying for the dance floor.

Australian Brewery – Rouse Hill
Since opening in 2010, Australian Brewery has become one of the true icons of the Hills District drinking scene. It’s a genuine craft operation, hand crafted beer brewed on site following German purity laws, using just malted barley, hops, yeast and water, paired with an expansive sporting and gaming hub, function rooms, and a bistro built on fresh, local produce.
The Australian Tap House next door adds another layer, pouring a rotating selection of guest taps from some of the country’s best breweries alongside the house range. Between the two, it’s one of the strongest craft beer destinations in western Sydney.
